Hi there — I’m Chianti!

hello pic 1Hi there! I’m Chianti Lomax. Millennial Speaker, Certified Coach and Happiness Curator

I am UBER excited that you are right here with me in this space!

A safe space where millennial women can be inspired, get clear, and be motivated to launch a happier lifestyle.

Before I go into any details on how to StartUp your happiness, you should first grab a seat, a bowl of blueberries (or popcorn – whichever you prefer), and let me tell you my story.

My Story

Where it all Started..

In the Summer of 2006, I moved to the Washington, D.C. area as a college graduate armed with a new job and ready to take on the world. I grew up in a single parent home on “the other side of town”,  in a city called Greenville, SC. At an early age, I realized that I would have to work a little harder than most of my peers that came from the traditional two parent homes on the nicer side of  the city. I had a plan and a vision for how I saw my life unfolding, but like most of you - I let  habits and insecurities, get in my way.

In the Fall of 2010, I found myself at the end of an unhealthy and bitter breakup. It was really BAD. I mean like made for Reality TV, this guy could given Peter Gunz a run for his money.  When  the relationship was over, I did not recognize the woman that I had become. I was overweight for my  height, in more debt than when I moved to the city, mentally and emotionally exhausted, and feeling  stuck and unhappy at my current job. I had literally hit my rock bottom. After a few weeks of ugly crying, ya know, the kind where you look into the mirror and your face looks like you were just in a boxing match with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, but in this case – you’re the enemy and they’re besties; I felt ashamed of what I had become. I stumbled upon a gospel song by Hezekiah Walker entitled, “God Favored Me”. Halfway through the song, it was like God turned the volume down on my selfpity party, and I heard Mr. Walker loudly proclaim, “I’m still here, I’m still alive, I’m still blessed and on my way to my destiny because the favor of God is over my life.” He was absolutely right! It felt as if God had tapped me on my shoulder and said, “It’s time to get up. Your life is much bigger than this moment.”

Back on Track!

I truly believe this breakup was the spark for my ultimate breakthrough! By the end of that year, I was inspired to get back on track.  I made the decision to take charge of my life and be the CEO of my own happiness. I started eating healthier, working out more, and spending more time with God.  I also started a new job with a higher salary and great benefits. I overhauled my finances by turning in my leased vehicle and bought a cheaper used car. I even moved into a smaller apartment to save money on rent. I was on a roll! The more I replaced my negative habits with positive habits, the happier I became.

I was so empowered by my newly found clarity around getting the most of my life, that I joined forces with a good friend and started a nonprofit called,  FitFam Foundation. Our goal is  to change the way people think and feel about what it means to be healthy from a wholelife fitness perspective; mentally, financially, and physically.

Now here I am in 2015, inspired, clear, and equipped with these three life lessons to continue building a life that I absolutely LOVE.

LESSON 1: Happiness is a choice. If something is negatively impacting “your happy” Change it.

LESSON 2: Self-pity is selfish. Your purpose is tied to someone else’s destiny. Always get up and keep moving.

LESSON 3: Failures are not final. They are simply lessons that must be learned to equip you for the future.

My life is far from perfection, but I’ve learned that an optimized life is a journey and not a destination. With faith in one hand and research based strategies for creating happier lives in the other, my mission is to equip millennial women with practical tools to launch and sustain the life of their dreams.

Let’s talk about YOU!
